Him

Lily Allen's songs never fail to make me smile.
Here's her song about God.

Would you please take me away from this place
I cannot bear to see the look upon your faces
And if there is some kind of God, do you think he's pleased?
When he looks down on us I wonder what he sees

Do you think he'd think the things we do are a waste of time?
Maybe he'd think we are getting on just fine
Do you think he's skint or financially secure?
And come election time I wonder who he'd vote for

Do you think he'd drive in his car without insurance?
Now is he interesting or do you think he'd bore us?
Do you think his favourite type of human is Caucasian?
Do you reckon he's ever been done for tax evasion?

Do you think he's any good at remembering people's names?
Do you think he's ever taken smack or cocaine?
I don't imagine he's ever been suicidal
His favourite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival

Ever since he can remember, people have died in his good name
Long before that September; long before hijacking planes
He's lost the will he can't decide
He doesn't know who's right or wrong
But there's one thing that he's sure of:
This has been going on too long

Ka-kinda busy

Due dates are in two weeks. Freaking out as expected.
Still managed to squeeze in helping out at the Burberry Showroom for 3 days, from yesterday till tomorrow.

Spotted Christopher Bailey & Angela Ahrendts yesterday, and buying directors Marigay McKee of Harrods & Averyl Oates of Harvey Nichols today.

And In the Streets:

The children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.

And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.

Spent an hour figuring out the lyrics for Don McLean's American Pie.

OMFG.

Just remembered a conversation I had with a fellow intern at work who is from my school but studying a different course.

Me: "OMG we're in the same cultural studies class on Mondays!!! ... HOW SMART is our lecturer, DOCTOR Agnes Rocamora."

Her: "OH hahaha is she actually a doctor then? She must be really smart, unlike my previous teacher in high school who kept calling himself a doctor for no reason."

Me: "Was he an actual doctor?"

Her: "NO, we asked him so many times and he kept saying he wasn't a REAL doctor."

Me: "Uhhh.......... you know that if he did a PhD in his subject he'd be called a doctor although he's isn't a--"

Her: "AHHHHAHAHAHHAHA WHATEVER I DON'T CARE!!!"

Today I was in the Juicy showroom doing interny things like serving coffee & buying lunch for clients. I didn't mind though, because these were the first clients I were ever serving and they were 3 ladies... from the Harrod's buying team. Kill me now.

S: "When I found out, I was SO shy and intimidated!"
A: "It's normal."

A: "One day, other people would love to work for you."

Twenty One

It's been a great celebration. :)

Last night Cheryl (it was her birthday yesterday), VK, Jason, Karmeng, Kim, Lin, Zach and I went for dinner at a french restaurant Chez Gerard at Covent Garden. Had the most wonderful steak there although I knew it was going to come out at the end of the night. After dinner most of us went to Boujis, where there was a big party to celebrate into today. Had a great turn up, although I couldn't take any pictures because there was a no-photo policy, wtf right. Took some pictures at the smoking area though, cos that was the only place we were allowed to. The night went very well. Got smashed, missed class + work today. Smooth start to my life as an adult!

Woke up with the worst hangover ever, and just Skyped with Aruno all day. Went to a special Grazia-French Connection event where it was ticket-only and we got to buy anything and everything for 20% off. So haps! & then dinner at Strada with the Fashion people-- Lia, Dhri, Pasha, Dewi, Andy & Lucia.

Awesome birthday.

Thank you to the people who called all the way from overseas.
You are the ones I love the mostest!!!

"Christina Aguilera with her son Max in her shoe room (not closet, room!)" - Suicide Blonde

I'm starting to feel really stupid that I'm not blogging using Tumblr. Doesn't Aguilera's place look so typically Juicy? Even if I could afford to have a room just for shoes, I'm not sure I'd be able to afford filling it up with Louboutins & Jimmy Choos.

Not for now, at least.

CHOOSE JUICY.

I am officially interning at Juicy Couture's European showroom. Won't say that I'm insane about the product, as you can imagine, but it's a lot of fun. The showroom is really spacious and beautifully decorated with a white Victorian interior complete with boudoir mirrors, giant jars of candy, dog accessories, pink, pink, pink, and everything Blonde & Californian. Forgive me for stereotyping! Anyway while there are a handful of merchandise there that I wouldn't ever think of owning, I cannot resist the occasional 'OMG PINK? HEARTS? SOOO CUTE!'. You know me.

Work aside, I'm gearing myself up for 2 Halloween parties, 2 birthday dinners and 2 birthday club nights out... I imagine I will be in a coma by Wednesday.

2 new phrases D & I came up with:
'Tevs floats boats! (Whatever floats your boat)
&
Mish and a half! (Like, 'It was a fucking mish (mission) and a half getting home today')

LOVE IT!

Wish you guys were here to celebrate with me!
(Just wait like 3 weeks before the angsty I-hate-essays-so-stressed-going-to-die posts reappear.)

If they say "Why, why?" Tell them that it's Human Nature.

Today, Dhriti & I watched This Is It. It made me very happy. Since it's Wednesday, we got our Orange Wednesday promotion which means our tickets were £3.25 each. We watched it at 7.30pm (ie peak hour) and only after the movie did I even realise that we caught it on the first day.

I went in half expecting that everyone would come out crying, but no. Past all that commercialism and drama about his death, the movie was purely about Michael doing what he does best-- performing. His voice was amazing even though it was just rehearsals, and he definitely still had his moves. I've personally grown sick of all the bullshit hype about his death, and it was awesome coming out of that cinema as though I'd watched him live PLUS getting to experience his childlike self exploding with humility.

Half the time we were both dreaming about his Balmain wardrobe.

Despite all his weirdness, I heart MJ!
& Kenny Ortega!

A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF MINE

Gotta love long weekends. Actually I'm not very sure why we have tomorrow (Monday) off as a bank holiday. I will Google it later. I'm going to just briefly update on my past week, as detailedly as my memory permits. So firstly, Singapore Day.I seriously thought it was one of the best days of my life here in London. It's like being at home, but with amazing weather and amazing food and amazing people. We first got there just before noon and after walking forever on the palace grounds and gawking at the beauty of the place (it is really really massive), we finally got to the event! There were literally like 40 food stalls (although most were the same on either side) and we obviously didn't get to try everything, as planned. The Chicken Rice line took 2 hours, so we just took a spoonful off whoever bothered to stay in line. (: While they were in line, Jia and I were able to try 4 other dishes, heehee.

At about 1ish the performers came up. I was pretty excited... Jia was the first to proclaim 'I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STUPID CELEBRITIES I JUST WANT TO EAT', and she was also the first to go 'OMG DIM SUM DOLLIES, CAN WE TAKE A PICTURE WITH THEM???' Gotta love her. So we spent the entire afternoon eating and eating and eating (really didn't help that I chose to wear a high-waisted skirt that day), complaining that we didn't get the Hokkien jokes, enjoying Hossan Leong cross-dressed, and laughing at Taufik because it was his first time in London (HAHAHA funnier for a yalam no?). Also, Ruien spent her time on stage lipsynching and waving to people. 5 minutes into her gig we're like, 'Who the fuck is she waving to?'
After the event was done I was still super hyper & suggested a beer picnic by the river, fun times! More pictures here & here.So then the next day we went to Paris. It was mostly free & easy so it seems like only Dhriti, Dewi and I were touring Paris together. Anyway the highlight of the trip was the lecture at Mod'Art. It was luxury branding and the speaker, Patrice de Place, was just AMAZING. He used to be the regional export manager for Christian Dior in Asia, and then worked for LVMH, and then went on to be the President of Celine Japan, and then President of Celine USA. OMG!!! He's literally been all over the world and really, really knows his stuff. Wow. I'd love to take more classes under him some day. (:Another highlight of the trip was visiting them fashion houses and their original stores when they were first established. Dewi even bought something from the Chanel on Rue Cambon. Too bad we didn't have time for many others like Yves Saint Laurent and Dior.

Paris in insanely expensive, especially in this current climate. I spent almost 200 Euros. I bought a sex dice (hehe), 3 Magazines (French Vogue, Japanese Nylon and American Interview), magnets & candies for some friends back home. Everything else was spent on food, transport and tickets to touristy places. Crazy right?
I'd love to go back someday though. (:
More pictures here & here!

After we got back from Paris I had 3 days of 'school in the morning, work in the afternoon', and it was quite intense. One exciting thing though-- I got to follow Marie-Louise into the offices of British Vogue to show them our client's new collections! It was rather exciting... hopefully I will get to intern for them one day.

Too precious!

It's week 1 of term 3, and everything's looking good.
I'm working part-time now with the same PR company since school's started.
This term I have a Cultural & Historical Studies essay due, along with a big group project report. After planning the next two and a half months around the timetable given to us, I found out that all the classes are consultation-based and not lectures... Meaning that you only go in when you have questions regarding the project. Meaning classes are all optional...... YOU READ THAT RIGHT.

Also, while I experienced London's heaviest snowfall in the winter, I'm currently in London's warmest April... ever. It's reached a high of 21 degrees & we've been getting some intense sunshine in the past 2 days. Life cannot be any better. Maybe except for the bloody bugs and wasps other minor issues associated with Spring. The weather better hold up until my super exciting weekend is over. We're going to Singapore Day on Saturday!!! SUPER EXCITING. When I mean 'we' I am referring to every Singaporean in this country. I can just imagine meeting people I didn't even know were here. Even Alicia Fun is flying in from Switzerland omg?

After Singapore Day is the much anticipated Paris trip from Sunday till Tuesday.

LIFE CANNOT BE ANY BETTER.

I am officially addicted to Salmon & (Philadelphia) Cream Cheese sandwiches....... Yum.

So yesterday was the last day doing full-time at my internship place. I'll be going back part-time once school starts on Monday. Hopefully I will have the time!

Will continue this again later on.

Fifi Lapin for Luella SS09

(: HELLO.
I know I haven't updated in ages and I'm sorry this has to be a quick one because I need to butt off to church. It's Good Friday! So work has been drowning me and what's worse is that I found myself a new Korean Drama to waste my life on. Boys Before Flowers, the Korean version of Meteor Garden. Belle, watch it. I remember in Melbourne when I watched Coffee Prince right when it showed and totally killed our internet for the month, and then Belle went crazy watching it only after we left Melbourne. REMEMBER?

Ok quickie.
Asos.com is on sale and I went insane shopping on it yesterday. Like insane. I've bought enough to last me the whole season.

I've been shopping so much it's seriously not funny. Too many influences!

Working in PR has taken the joy out of reading magazines. I still try to read all the magazines we get, but there is no time so I have to bring them home. I'm starting to like Elle Magazine, it's way more informative than Vogue.

I discovered fashiontoast.com.

I read Grazia every week now.

For those who've been asking, the trends for SS09 are, very briefly: Suede Fringe accessories, Harem pants, Studded accessories, Washed Out denim, Boyfriend blazers with insane shoulders, jumpsuits and obviously thanks to Luella, anything Floral.

Ok gotta run because Jesus died at 3pm!

Dolce & Gabbana; Fendi and then Donna.

Introducing my very first pair of designer shoes that I found in a sample sale. Who knew they'd be Dolce & Gabbana? IT NEEDS TO BE CATALOGUED.
The purple's silk, the red's suede and the hot pink trim is leather.
I first thought they couldn't get any girlier but I guess they're still missing a heart or a bow to be called 'Overkill'.
There were only 2 pairs and both were mine and Dhriti's sizes, so we have matching first-designer-pairs!

On a separate note, I managed to clinch an internship with a small fashion PR firm that will last full-time over the entire one-month Easter break, which started today.

Much excitement!

REDNESS

After going 8 weeks without a sip of alcohol, I finally decided to go out with the girls on Friday night. The night started with me in red lips, & ended with everyone else with red lips and kiss marks on their cheeks. It also ended with me being wasted out of my brains and forgetting that I threw up in the shower. I only remembered when I saw a little leaf behind my shampoo bottle from the baguette I had for dinner.
HAHAHA.

Fun times.

I feel pretty damn hard done by; I spent ages giving head.

Gotta LOVE Coffee Republic. I first went into Coffee Republic with Chelsea a few months ago and loved their ham & cheese muffin. I'm not a major coffee fan at all so I've never actually tried their coffee but everything from their cute little cafes to the hearts everywhere (you know how my heart melts for hearts) made me feel like it was best coffee place ever. Today though, I ordered a Maltesers Shake and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. 10 other people in class tried it too and they even asked for second sips. I'm really not a fan of anything chocolate but SERIOUSLY, seriously. Here's the rest of their Shakes menu. Brace yourselves.

It's the end of Week 8. 2 more weeks to Spring break!
Internship? India? LA? Perth?

I signed up for Michael Jackson pre-sale tickets HAHA.
If Madonna's tickets were £120, how much would MJ's tickets go for?
Craze!

LAWL!

So I was reading Singaporean news on CNA's website when I come across an article about Edison Chen being in Singapore that tickled my funny bone.

"In the midst of court hearings held in Vancouver for the trial of persons suspected of illegally releasing Edison Chen’s “jolly couple snapshots” the beleaguered star flew halfway around the world to grace two promotional events here on Saturday: The launch of burger chain Carl’s Jr’s 100% Angus Thickburger and sportswear label adidas Originals’ 60th Anniversary Party.

There is a certain irony in Edison choosing, at a time like this, to endorse a burger whose tagline is “Some like it long, but most like it thick” for a company whose slogan is “It’s gonna get messy”. Especially when anyone familiar with the scandal can agree that he isn’t exactly, well, “upsized”. You could tell from the size of his adidas trainers."  - May Seah, 2/3/09

'Dear Sem,
Thank you for your meeting with me last week.
Due to the high calibre of applicants you have not been successful this time, however we will keep you in mind for future vacancies. Please do keep trying, as there are a lot of opportunities in the industry at this time of year!
'

So I applied for a 6-month unpaid internship & didn't get it.
Other applicants have more experience / better qualifications than I do. How do I gain experience if no one wants to give me the chance to, and how can I go lower than SIX MONTHS UNPAID? Actually, Urban Outfitters is offering a 12-month unpaid internship. What kind of fuckery is that? The real world sucks!

On a much lighter note,
I managed to complete my work on time, although the quality is definitely not A-grade.

Little Bunnies of Luella

Fifi Lapin for Luella F/W 08
♡♡♡

I have been shopping.
Last Sunday we went to Spitafields Market & Sunday Up Market which are only open on Sundays, and today we went to Portobello Road Market which is only open on Saturdays. Markets here close at around 4pm and on both occasions we only got there at about 3pm. Anyhow, they were both very exciting adventures. Today the sun was out, & everytime the sun is out and the sky is blue and the temperature is a single digit I miss the US. It could be because I relate happy times to being in LA (except I was in LA in the summer), or it could just be that I really really miss the sun. I'm not miserable when it's cloudy, but my excitement rockets through the roof when I wake up to a beautiful day. Very different from my days in Singapore.

So besides making the extra effort of moving my ass to visit the markets, I have been hanging out with my computer window shopping on asos.com, criticizing random individuals on lookbook.nu & applying for internships. After I've exhausted all possible methods of procrastination (blogging being one of them), I then turn to my Cultural Studies Reader and the 7 books on cultural consumption & fashion consumerism that I have to read and write on by Thursday.

Since I have the time (hehe) let's see how intense fashion studies can get:

"In effect, the curious cultural profile enjoyed by fashion and clothing may be understood as the result of a conflict between the desire for there to be a 'beyond' to ideology, for there to be a place where class divisions, for example, are absent, and the realization that there can be no such beyond (Bernard 1996: 45)"

My reader may be intensely highlighted in pink, but studying fashion doesn't make me a bimbo!

Let's move on to how I stole a dress today.
To cut the long story short, I left a dress slung over my shoulder, paid for everything else I wanted, walked all the way to the Tube station, and then saw the BRIGHT BLUE dress on my shoulder when I looked into my bag to take my Oyster card out. Seriously.

I have a serious need for new rings.
Hint hint hint to my friend who makes them...

BLAME IT ON THE WEATHERMAN

Holy shit man. I've seen sunny or cloudy or raining but wtf is this, hail?!
OMG IT'S HAILING IN LONDON?
The boyfriend & I are very obviously at different ends of the world. :(

BECAUSE WHY?

I finally got my Macbook fixed. They changed the hard drive so I officially have 561 photos (from Nov 08 till now) & 2 songs. Swear to God downloading applications & re-setting all sorts of preferences is a pain in the ass.

Pictures will be up on fb soon,
Of coffees, partying, Dan's Mini & Fullerton Hotel.

10 days & I'm back in Londres!

#1

So I just watched Gossip Girl ep 13. I seriously have gone from 'I can't believe I'm starting to like this' to 'HOLY SHIT I LOVE THIS WHY CAN'T THE NEXT EP BE OUT NOW'. It's unhealthy!

I've heaps to blog about last Friday and my trip alone to the museums but I have to try & get my Macbook fixed first! & do my hair. & my brows. & meet up with long losts. (:

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY TO BE HOME.
Now I just need to find someone who can tell me what I got for Peter's exam.

SUDDEN DEATH

My computer crashed and I just spent the last 24 hours re-doing my essay in school and I'm finally done. All the love and thanks to Aruno & Belle for being there for me, and sorry again for unnecessarily making you guys worried last night.

All's good.
Can't wait to submit my essay. I just want to fucking get it over and done with.

No computer so I'll be missing in action.
See you guys in Singapore.

The Central Limit Theorem

So I'm trying to study but I cannot concentrate because I'm exhausted & I just want to find myself a reason to come online.

I'm preparing for my statistics paper on Friday & my brain is already so fried when I come across this simple definition of The Central Limit Theorem:

"for random variables from a population with a finite variance, the sampling distribution of the standardized sample mean approaches the standard normal distribution as the sample size n becomes infinite"

OH REALLY?!

Attempting to break that shit down is worse than trying to help Belle with Philosophy & trying to help her figure out if God exists.

I'm going to bed.

I'm Out Of My Head

If there's one thing I absolutely love about being in London, it's that I haven't seen a creepy crawly ever since I arrived. Not even a fucking ant. OH WAIT. There was the occasional lost fly in my room, the annoying kind that buzzes loudly when it slams into anything. But flies are fine. Everytime I go to the bathroom & freak myself out a little because I thought I saw something move always ends up being a false alarm. I HATE COCKROACHES THEY SHOULD DIE DIE DIE.

Why can't the more beautiful things be as resilient as roaches?

With Love from Western Australia

An exam & presentation down, another exam and an essay to go.
They went great, but not perfect. & that's just not good enough!
Doesn't matter anymore now that someone sent some fave flowers of mine. (:

JOY.

EXACTLY 14 days till I get to smell Singapore!!!
Currently missing the chocolatey smell of Galler.

Everybody now, "Aww."

I just got back from buying lunch and something fascinated me on the bus I just had to blog about it right away. There was this old granny. Think old, like in her 70s or 80s. And think frail, because she was so tiny (she came up to about my shoulder level) and I was so afraid she was going to fly out the windshield when the bus was stopping. Thing about her was, she was in a red & black tweed jacket. I was looking at it for awhile and I was like, wait a minute. That's something I would wear. Then I looked down, she was wearing leather boots with tiny heels. And then I looked at her face, and she was wearing aviators. I'm not kidding. Her grey hair was scarce but bunned up to the best of her ability. It was the cutest thing. She got off where I got off, and if only I could have taken a picture of her! She didn't look eccentric or weird at all. She actually pulled the look off and looked super cute.
I wanna be that kind of granny!

The Power of MJ

“I really have a good attitude about tattooing. When I first got one, two years ago, I was like, ‘I’m not going to overthink this or what it means, or what it’s going to be like when I’m 80. I want to get tattooed today, and in five weeks, I’ll get a SpongeBob tattoo.’ Will I regret it someday? I don’t know, but I’m not going to deny myself this pleasure today because of what I don’t know in the future.”

I tried it & had to buy it

I reckon that with the world's largest TOPSHOP (which also has the world's largest retail space for a single store) located a 2-minute walk away from school, & having visited it many times already (and still unable to cover every single section in one visit)... That TOPSHOP would be sufficient to meet the demands of everyone below 25 even if it was the only store in the world. It's NUTS. Yesterday I went in and I thought okay. Since I can't afford to buy everything I like I'll just try them on. But I liked everything. Sometimes I wish I studied in a Third World country instead.

Fashion Analysis exams and the essay + presentation on window displays are due in 3 weeks & I'm starting to stress out.

BTW! I watched Lagerfeld Confidential last night which is a documentary on, well, Karl Lagerfeld. He's a cute little man (I have a thing for 'cute' old men) & very level-headed. I wish I studied French when I was younger. Won't pick it up now too lazy. He was talking about picking male models:
"Matthias & Tobias have a smoother style. We need that. I'm not saying 'androgynous'. I hate that word."

& then I thought of Belle. (:

I got the CUTEST thing in the mail today. Although I got my phone about a month ago now, I just received a little booklet of how to care for the little presh & it is tooooo cute! It even had my street name on the cover. LOOK!

Vanity / Sanity

TIME WITH SELF
23:00 - 23:08

You're a stylish girl, can't we end this stylishly?

Today I went out and I bought pink toilet paper. Is that weird or pretty? I brought it up to blow my nose half expecting it to smell like strawberries but got the hard smell of cardboard instead. They actually had toilet paper which was fragranted with vanilla, but it wasn't pink and I thought that was crossing the line. A bag of 6 rolls from the 99p store. I hate the stupid concept of a 99p store, especially when they give you 1p or 2p coins in change, so annoying! What's so hard about calling it a 1 quid store? It would still sound cheap to me.

Last week I offered my time & talent (photoshop skills haha!) to design mum's new business cards for her freelancing gig in Melbourne. I never realised how long it was since I last played around with photoshop & design when I used to make my own blog templates. I actually have each template saved in my computer & I looked at them. Much nostalgia! I want to make my own name card too! BECKS WANNA?

Apparently Zac Efron & Co. are in Sydney and I spent a good 5 minutes staring at Ashley Tisdale's outfit. I WANT IT.

Still listening to HSM3's soundtrack.
36 days till I go back home.
CANNOT WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS.

20 down, 100 to go

What happens when you spend your birthday away from friends & family? I'll tell you. You get wishes from friends all over the globe through fb & heaps and heaps of chocolate (& two cards)! I really enjoyed the attention today although it wouldn't have happened without Facebook, of course! Only special people (those who don't need fb to tell them when my birthday actually is) are reading this blog so this is not a shoutout to the randoms: thank you sweeties for all the love no matter where in the world you are! (:

I'm just going to stay home tonight and watch DVDs. I have to watch the MJ & LV documentary and Breakfast at Tiffany's one more time before dropping them off at the library.

To the S'es: We're going to watch my 18th birthday video together when I turn 21. Hehehe.

Cos I'm Cool Like That

I did my laundry last night, & realised that literally my whole wardrobe is made up of white, black, grey and dark blue clothes. Dhrits asked me how come I love pink so much but I barely have any pink clothes. Uh, cos I'm cool like that!

Btw, I have a new phone now. I actually got it 3 weeks back but it's still my little presh, the Samsung F480 in pink! Loves it although it's a shitbag when you need to text whilst drunk or half awake/asleep.

ALSO, I'm FINALLY going to catch Death Cab live after missing them in Singapore. YEAH.

Life's good, innit? (:

"She's so pretty Sem, I want her face!" - Dhrits
(:

I went on a shopping spree yesterday. Although I'm determined to save money, I used turning 20 as an excuse to splurge and I got 7 pairs of tights, a dress, a top, pyjamas, a boyfriend sweater, a scarf, a pair of shoes, knickers, 2 head bands, rubber bands, eyeliner and lollies. I know right.

ANYWAY I'm very excited to turn 20! I usually don't remember my birthday's coming up until someone asks me what I've got planned but this year it's hard to not think about it since the American Elections happen the day after. Yay for Obama!

I love being in fashion school and being around people who know fashion. We were in a lecture on Thursday and we were analyzing the guest speaker and then, "Dude, is that a fucking Balenciaga?". HAHA, love it. It wasn't a very big deal though because a handful of people in school carry B's. And C's. And LV's. Again, I know right.

By the way, BEST DOCUMENTARY EVER. Ever ever ever.

MAXIMUM EXPOSURE.

Merry Christmas everyone. I can't believe it's Christmas again. It took me quite awhile to recall where I spent Christmas last year-- in a Japanese restaurant in Shanghai. Come to think of it, I barely ever spend Christmas at home. So anyway, Aruno and I went to watch I Am Legend this morning. It was pretty awesome and both of us came out super happy. Then I came home and guess what I got for Christmas!!! MY MENSES. Jesus. A good Christmas gift though.

I'm so glad the year is ending though, because I really can't wait for a new year to begin. Hopefully my uni apps will be done by this year so that all I have to look forward to is acceptance letters. Oh we got our results back, and I got an average of 83.25%, AND I didn't make it into commerce which has a cutoff of 84%. So I got into Arts. We'll just see how things go.

90 days till mum's wedding! Emily agreed to design the bridesmaid dresses so that should be pretty exciting. The part I'm most hyped about though is the family reunion, wooohoooooo. CANNOT WAIT.

Okay will update again maybe later.
Loves!

Polly Ticks.

A lot of times, my post titles, pictures and eventual posts don't link at all. HAHA. I've been so stressed with work it's not even funny. After friday I can bloody hell relax. To the beach on friday during the day then Seven. Then Bubble on saturday. Then Aussie party on Sunday. My weekend plans are looking yummy!

I just bought another magazine. This adds to my problem of transporting my precious books/mags back to Singapore. It also adds to my money problem. Why did I buy a magazine for AUD 8.50, pray tell me.

Oh just wanted to let you guys know what we do to destress, just so you guys know that I'm not actually studying 24/7. Sunday night we went to Trev's place for a party then we came home, half drunk. We called the Braddell Boys over to 'drink somemore'. We ended up playing hide & seek in the dark. Like seriously. There were some really good places especially in Celina's room and we were so excited to find out that we could actually play the game in our miniature apartment. :D Then we watched Grey's Anatomy episode 9. My God, YOU GUYS. HAVE. TO WATCH GREY'S. EPISODE NINE. FUX. Grey's is getting more and more gruesome I swear. Becks I might just be able to bring season 3 back for you. And all of season 4's on my computer so... waaaait for it!

Muahaha. Gotsta shop, eat chicken rice and see Vee.
Oh by the way, she texted me to tell me that it's started snowing in Vancouver. Just thought everyone should know!

Last Exit to Brooklyn.

Belle: "Sem it's 7.30 wake up we have to go."
Sem: "Five minutes, let me conclude my dream."

Hahaha!
So today Rae and I took time off our extremely busy study schedules to have lunch with Wong. Except, after walking from one extreme end of Lygon to the other, we found Ying Thai closed. Cheesepie! So then we walked all the way back to the city and had food at another Thai restaurant. Then we walked here and there AS THOUGH we don't have exams. Now I have to seriously get my ass down to studying! FUXXX.

22.11.07

Find the Latest Bag & Bag the Latest Find.

I'm going to make this bag MYSELF!

Hahaha. I'm going a little OCD due to the exam stress. Not that I'm stressed or anything actually, I'm just restricted from roaming the stores because window shopping during the exam period is a no no. So what do I do? Window shop online. Muahahaha! I've been loitering on the American Apparel webpage for quite sometime now and apparently they're opening a shop on Chapel St. in December. HURRY UP MAN I have to go back to Singapore! I superrr love American Apparel. Mother please give me a credit card already. (:

I have to go read up on the Roman Empire and the 17th-18th century Enlightenment now.
Jesus help me.

21.11.07

Across the Universe.

I've recently been sending 1500-word emails updating friends around the globe and I'm thinking, what the hell did I get this blog for? Anyway, it's really late but we (Haoyu, Daniel, Belle, Celina & I) are in different parts of the house having our own quiet time preparing for the lit exam tomorrow. For once in my life I feel really confident for a lit paper, only because I started preparing early. I had a bad experience last term when I just sat in the balcony and cried at midnight because I didn't have a plan for my essay yet.

Anyhow, we've all been saying this recently-- TIME FLIES. I can't believe it's already December and we're already taking our final exams and we'll all be home in no time! If I do eventually decide to go to New York or London school will only start in September, and I have great plans for the long break. I want to travel, of course. Becky knows this very well, haha. I think maybe we're arranging a trip to HK. Shall we make it an S'es holiday? (: I also want to go to China to take a month-long intensive course in Mandarin. I actually wanted to go to Shanghai but Celina is super against it and is forcing me to go to Taiwan where, apparently, it's more 'high class' than if i went to Shanghai. She's Taiwanese, she's biased, but I will consider.

So we bought a dog, and now we've no idea what to do with her when we go back to Singapore. We can't send her to Singapore because then she wouldn't be able to come back (she has to be quarantined for 5 months coming into Australia). I've asked Anika but her mother didn't let her take Livvy so I probably have to give her to Trev. I'm just pushing it as long as I can because if I give it to Trevor mother will know about the dog. Mother cannot know about the dog.

So much to do for the exams, but we're totally taking it one day at a time. I seriously thought it was just me and my slacking issue but everyone's super relaxed about these exams which, shouldn't be the case. After all the cramming, I still have to pack up, settle the tenancy of apartment, bills & contracts, chucking Livvy somewhere, buy gifts for everyone, put boxes of my things in Trev's place, and complete my uni applications. SHIT. One day at a time baby.

I'm coming home soooooooon!
Love! xx

Say 'Okay'.

I am updating!!! After 55 days of absence. So, in this time, I

Had my term 3 exams.
Flew back 'home' to realise that Melbourne is my home now.
Managed to surprise 1 person: Blim.
Spent a bomb, except I don't know on what.
Made trips to the cinema more times than I did when I was in Melbourne.
Spent good time with my sweetheart.
Had Far East chicken rice, yum. And squid ink spaghetti, yum.
Swam a lot.
Experienced Elisa getting her second and third tattoos.
Got the latest iPod nano.
Missed the first day of school due to a delayed flight.
Applied to university, late.
Got my results back. They're good but not good enough.
Bought a puppy, her name is Livvy, after Liv Tyler. I don't know why Liv Tyler.
Stressed over an EAP presentation on the fashion industry's effects. Thank God it's over!
Experienced the start of Daylight Savings. Now we're 3hrs ahead of Singapore time.
Called my fish's (little effy) time of death: Oct 27, 2:36pm.
Watched 4 episodes each of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
Started going for hot yoga, also known as Bikram Yoga.
Have been in search of a dress for the ball, which, by the way, falls on my birthday.
Have been counting down to my return to Singapore: 43 days, 2 hrs, 27mins, 40secs as of now.

Small Leaks Sink Ships

I have officially missed three parties in two nights. I feel bad though, because I haven't seen Anika in weeks, and I keep promising that I'll see her 'next weekend'. Anyhow, after Psych and HOI essays are done, REAL PARTYING BABYYY. Meanwhile, everyone wants to stone me because I've got extensions for BOTH essays. So, I shouldn't really be complaining that I've been missing out on the parties.

I was just applying makeup for the twins and I reckon that this deserves to be a KristiQuote™:
Kristi: Whoa, I've never put mascara with my eyes closed before.
Sem: Yea duh, you can't. (Because eyes are closed)
Kristi: Oh ya.

Randomly,
I miss Aruno, Vee, Nana, the parents, Becky, Mei, Henry & Darren, Steven, my s62 family, Blim & Lynn, Elisa, Sarah & Nalia, Fai, Yinhao, dancing, Vivo City (for some weird reason, it reminds me so much of my JC class), friday Tom Yums in Innova, chicken rice, Istana Park (why?), cheap public transport, mee tai mak, CHURCH, dinners with the S'es, shopping in Bugis & browsing at graphic books with Becky. For the hundredth time, I wanna go home. :(
For a holiday though. I'm happy living out of Singapore, hehehe.

21.8.07

KRISTIQUOTE™:

As promised, I'm starting a new feature in my blog entitled as above.

"Sem! It's so COLD. I feel like I'm in winter!!!"

and,

"Aruno and you are 6 months? Wow... that's like half a month."

I love you, Kris. (:

Have a drink; have my children.

This week has been fantastic. Other than receiving a letter from Felicity about my 'poor' attendance which is also CC-ed to my dear mother, everything's been going great. I always seem to have good news don't I? (: More good news!

1. I have started wearing my retainers again.
2. I have been going to the gym everydayyy. I'm getting that body baby.
3. I got caught on the tram without a valid ticket, but I didn't get fined.
4. We have a neverending supply of Coke cans. CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE? Bliss.
5. I am doing backstage makeup for Paul Mitchell for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Very excite!
6. I lovvveee Math now.
7. I just randomly applied to a university I want to go to. Pray that I get in!
8. Veena and I have a grand plan-- we're going to spend all of next summer partying in LA. YAY.

Am I blessed or what?
I'm super tired and my body is aching from working out so much. ANYHOW, we're going to Seven tonight so I think I'm going to pass out from exhaustion. Tomorrow I've got a drama meeting from 9am-1pm (oh God) and then Footie from 1.30pm till like, 5? Winner.

EAP essay due on Monday, HOI on Friday & Psych the following Monday.
I can do it!

I love Facebook.

I want to go to the Philippines now (cos they're there now).
I can't wait for the wedding.
I like Mika.
I feel shit because I ate too much for dinner.
I cleaned the house thoroughly today.
I am annoyed because I know I will get the things I want except I have to WAIT.
I hate waiting.
I want to be SKINNY.

Knowing me, knowing you, there is nothing we can do.

I bought these nose studs from Queen Vic market, 3 for ten dollars!!! I went mad when I found out how much they were being sold for, and there were hundreds to choose from and you know how they're so tiny, so by the time I made my choices I felt a little cross-eyed. BUT it was a very good buy. These studs are just straight with a little ball at the end, unlike the coil one I used to have. People tell me that these ones are annoying because they fall off and get lost easily, but who cares! THEY'RE ONLY ABOUT THREE BUCKS EACH. Sterrrrrrrling silver.

Anyway, I got into trouble for my attendance today. 61%, woohoo! Not very proud of it, but I still beat Belle's miserable 25%. Come on, school just started, give us a break!

OH. ALEISHA WON BIG BROTHER 2007!!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY.

28.7.07

Funniness.

Just so we'll never forget these moments.

1. Kristi on Kathi:
"She will pee all over him and declare him her territory!!!"

2. We joke and call Kathi "Kat Moss".
Kathi: "In my past life I was Kate Moss."
Kristi: "Kate Moss is still alive lah."

HAHAHAHA TWINS!!!

UNCONDITIONAL

I am very fickle-minded. After a month (or two) of yearning to get out of here, I have again the desire to study in UniMelb. Who knows, I might change my mind yet again. How about we just let it wait?

I love the start of term. I'd almost forgotten the smell of freedom and happiness after all those essays and exams. I've been home all day just laughing to myself for no reason. HAPPY HOR.

Thursday is no school day! Which means it is also no-spending day! YAY!

17.7.07

Another Shoe In the Wall

I have started sticking my tongue out at trams whenever I hop off them. Because I've been travelling illegally and I haven't been caught. Heheh. Ok I'd better keep quiet because I might get caught now that I've mentioned it. School's been great. I've been feeling much better (less lonely) ever since Monday, and I still can't wait for Belle to come back. THREE MORE DAYSSSS. Should I be thanking God that I don't have school on Thursdays? Not when I'm alone.

I've gotten some of my results back and I'm satisfied but not really. Well, the fact that Shaun got an average of 99% for his electives (yes, 99% swear to God) makes me think twice about how happy I should be with my own results. Whatever it is, EXAMS ARE OVER BABBBBYYYYYY.

Whatever happened to Becky? BECKY WHERE HAVE YOU DISAPPEARED TO? IS SOMETHING WRONG? PLEASE COME BACK TO ME.

I've been trying to get a job but NO ONE WANTS TO HIRE ME. Em reckons I've got to wait for the Christmas period. As if I'm going to be here in Christmas, I'll be back home man. If of course, I still have one by that time. I really can't wait to go back. Dinners with the S'es, shopping, church (OMG I MISS CHURCHHHHH), and of course, spending time with the neighbour boy.

I am going to be really random and saaayyyyyy...
I love the Olsen Twins.

Okay I LOVE YOU whoever is reading this!

How boring. I'm stuck at home cold, lonely, miserable and bored. The house is finally clean, and I don't suppose it will get dirty again till Belle comes home. I bloody hell need to work. Sent out some applications today, so hopefully I'll get some calls soon. Meanwhile, I've decided to go to the library to start my research for the Psych essay. HEEHEEHEE (It's due mid-August). I was actually rummaging through the books looking to do some Math (for next term) when I saw the Psych essay question paper. Research is fun so I'll go do that, but of course writing the essay will be left till like, a week before the due date. :D

Beautiful Emily has been selected for the photoshoot that's coming up. Will post the pictures up! Like, in a month.

I've run out of things to do on the computer.
WTFUXXX.

25.6.07

Caught in a landslide; no escape from reality.

Literature is a pain the ass. I've learnt today that I don't posses the stamina to write 1500 words on a topic that I seriously don't give a fuck about. Seriously. Anyway, that down, I came home to a wonderfully filthy house (I'd been waiting since forever for this day to come) and I'm not even half done with the housework yet. Little Effy's tank is nice and clean, so I can relax a little now.

Belle and I are into the Chinese-songs phase. I remember being in that phase when I was doing my O levels. This time it started because Melvin played Chinese songs while I was studying for math. Belle's got it worse than I do though. I reckon she's got a whole playlist of Chinese songs. I've only got two songs. Heehee. Chinese songs are super one kind emo no joke mannnn.

ANYHOW, I can't believe it's the last week of term already. After Friday's Econs paper, PARTY PARTY PARTY!!! I reckon Friday's party is going to be a fuckin' blast. And thennnn, everyone is leaving for the holidays and not only will I have no one to party with, I'd be too broke to. I can't save money for shit, and here I am bossing others to think about their children's education fund. Tsk.

Mother emailed me asking for advice on a surprise birthday party for Trev. How cute is that? Teenagers.

My prayers go out to Becky.
Distance doesn't change anything, I love you!

17.6.07

Yea the cookie crumbles, but in whose hand?

I am supposed to be, was and will be studying Psych, but I just took a little break to watch the last episode of the O.C. I'd been left with the final episode for eons already and I don't know why I had the urge to complete the season but I did.
And, IT WAS SO SADDDDDDDDD!!!

Though it lasted for only three-ish years, the O.C. will always bring back awesome memories.

16.6.07

God-fearing people are at the bottom of the sea.

Shopping hurts. Belle and I have cultivated the habit of going shopping every Thursday. This week I bought a pair of (oh so gorgeous) ankle boots, 3 tops, and 2 dresses. Like where the hell does all my money come from right, geez. But I want more! I wanna get a pair of 5-inch black heels and my sweet Bettina's! (:

I have apparently lost weight. I like the idea that I'm losing weight in the winter while everyone else is gaining. No weight loss, no Bettina's, baby. The protein diet works wonders, and I don't know whether it's supposed to be this easy because I'm starting to get immune to hunger. Isn't that cool? I'm developing a disorder, YAY!

Hahahaha.

Anyhow, Celina and I went to Victoria Market today just to walk around and we spent about an hour at the pet shop contemplating whether to buy a bunny. I'm not super into animals whose existence (or none thereof) would change my life. Maybe except for little Effy. But in the (dwarf) bunny cage there were 2 white ones and one absolutely stunning dark grey one. Holy Mary & Joseph man! I WANTED TO GET IT!!!

But of course, it would piss all over the place, stink up the house and grow huge and become ugly. So I walked away sadly.

Exams are the week after next! TSK.

Horses prance through a silver storm.

I hate wet weather.
I'm obsessed with being skinny.
I've quit cigarettes, and carbs, and I'm quitting Coke.
I want to go someplace else for Uni, if God permits.
I think Sienna Miller is gorgeous.
I detest Math. Still.
I haven't spent a single cent all weekend.
I haven't stepped out of the house for more than an hour in the last 72 hours.
I'm going to the State Library for a bit, tomorrow.
I'm living in your afterglow.

7.6.07

Fantastic manners is a form of foreplay.

I am sitting on the couch on a beautiful, sunny, 14-degree, school-less Thursday noon listening to Avril Lavigne's first single. I still like it. The exam timetable's just out, and I'm starting to panic. More for my math exam. Out of the 11 tutes we've had, I've only completed 3. Yes. Why did I even take up math right, shit. I have to because of commerce so, looks like I'll be doing math all week.

On a lighter note, the Autumn sale has begun. I just realised that I don't have to be envious of them Great Singapore Sale shoppers because here they sale after every season- which is, I'll do the math for you, every three months! (: I think I have about 25 necklaces from Diva so far hahaha. More to come! Being here makes me realise how much fashion in Singapore is shit. ALL YOU FASHION DESIGNER HOPEFULS PLEASE, get out of there.

I miss you Becks.
Heapsish.

5.6.07

Tragedy. Enlightenment. Bliss. Abhorrence.

My breasts are becoming non-existant thanks to winter clothes. It's like,
Wow! I love your coat, but where the hell did your boobs go?

I LoveHate winter.

So please can you stop pulling hair?

Today I went to Bettina Liano's after school to try myself some jeans. I was given these gorgeous skinnies and when I tried them on, I could have fainted because I couldn't fit into my usual size. When I finally forced the button to buckle, I was so cross and asked for the next size but the girl told me that the jeans would expand so it was the perfect size for me. And I'm there thinking, PERFECT SIZE?! Holy shit do you realize what I'm trying to get at here? I AM GOING TO HYPERVENTILATE AND DIE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. Okay, they cost 220 bucks. I'm still deciding whether I'm willing to starve myself for them. Not really to be able to afford them, but more to bloody fit perfectly into them.

That's it! I am a changed woman. From today onwards, my life will revolve around studying and watching my diet. I'm going to look gorgeous (in those jeans) by the time the holidays are here. This means I have 24 days.

Yes. (:

Blinded by Nostalgia.

Belle and I didn't go to school today, for different reasons. Instead, we went for some retail therapy. It felt good to shop without thinking about the cost. Haha. Anyway it's not like I'm a big spendthrift. In fact, I spent half of what Belle did. We walked throughout DFO, and then Bourke St. followed by Swanston on the way home. Cooked Japanese curry for dinner. A little salty, but it was good! Twins and Celina came over after dinner to give Belle roses and a lollypop. Such sweethearts. I hope you're feeling much better sweets, I'm always here for you!
I love you Belle.

(:

Case of the Ex.

When there is need for change, it isn't working out.

26.5.07

You became premature.

All those times that I said I was sober,
Well I'm afraid I lied,
I'd be lying next to you, you next to me,
All the time I was high as a kite.

23.5.07

Godspeed.

This picture was taken in Melbourne, not by me though.
It's Celina's 19th birthday today.
My EAP essay is due this friday, and HOI essay the following friday.
I just had avocado, for the first time since I was what, 5?
I was half an hour late for my first lesson this morning.
I reckon I'm starting to develop a bad habit of waking up late in the morning.
I cleaned the fish tank yesterday.
Keep forgetting to pop my vitamins.
Belle and I are currently addicted to the Anastasia soundtrack.
I love Britney Spears still.
Belle and Kathi cooked chicken curry for dinner, yum.
I have clean bed sheets.
I have a dirty bathroom.
We added another photo to the fridge.
We've got a box of Krispy Kremes, yum!
We're watching Pirates of the Carribean on Friday.
I remember I watched the second one twice.
Need. Boots.
Celina and I signed the roll then walked out of Literature lecture today.
Happy. (:

21.5.07

Wise words.

Belle and I were having a discussion about Cicero and why he bloody hell failed to stop the rise of tyranny in Rome.

Sem: "Well anyway he died in the end so..."
Belle: "THEN?! That's why he failed la."

So this is my essay plan.

Why was Cicero unable to stop the rise of tyranny in Rome?

Because his head and hands were cut off.

20.5.07

Until I found you.

To the one
whose smile makes my heart beat faster,
whose voice brings me bliss,
whose words assure me no matter the distance,
whose innocence has been subtly revealed,
whose embrace I yearn to be lost in,
and whose heart I forever want to hold,

Thank you.

Drawn to the voice of my Saviour once again.

FTTHT:
(well not today, last week but just for the record)
Kristi: Sigh* "Febuary is such a bad year."

&

Sem tastes her spaghetti sauce.
Kristi: "How?"
Sem: "Mmm, a little sour."
Kristi: "Oh, too much soya sauce ah?"

You'll notice that most FTTHTs will involve Kristi and Celina. They're classic I swear.

It is Friday once again. The weeks fly by so quickly, I don't have enough time to enjoy myself completely. It's been raining heaps lately, which is very good for Melbourne, not so much for my mood. Gray skies, wet pavements, falling leaves and the sound of wet tyres, I hate it! For some reason rainy and gloomy days remind me of my two years in Innova, especially during the rainy season. Especially especially walking along Sean's wet void deck.

Omg drama.

On a lighter note, we're going to Alex's 18th birthday party tonight. For the first time Belle is going to meet Anika's (whole) social circle. Good on her! Haha she's going to be super overwhelmed and I can't wait to show her the cute and hot boys. YAY! After that we might go clubbing but I doubt it because we're running super low on cash. Anyway I don't wanna give you guys the impression that I'm some (Singaporean, mind you) party bitch. Know what I mean?

I've adopted a terrible sleeping pattern due to Grey's Anatomy as well as talking on the phone too much. As a result I've missed two 9am lessons this week. Tsk. WHOSE FAULT.

(:

5.5.07

I will share the air I breathe.

We finally have a phone line and an internet connection at home, Hallelujah! The only problem is that Apple doesn't read the installation disc so my computer doesn't have internet. Great or great? So I'm using my Dad's for now and when he's gone I'll use Belle's. Or, I might just call up the server and ask what I'm supposed to do just because I'm a Mac user.

School is awesome. It's so fun that a week breezes by so quickly and I welcome the next week with open arms. No Monday blues, and no extra excitement just because it's Friday. It's just happiness everyday. Hahaha.

I reckon my cooking skills have improved tremendously.

I reckon I'll make a good wife.

(: Yay.

20.4.07

Super Size Me.

Finally, it's the end of the third week. This means that we join the Febuary intake Monday onwards. We're all in the computer lab now discovering our new timetables. This is where the best part comes in. I'm the only one I know who has school 4 days a week. I have no school on Thursdays! YAY. Oh my god I cannot stop rubbing it in.

Today we had a Literature exam. LIT MAN. I can't believe I have to do Lit but thankfully it's down. We also had a drama exam but it isn't counted so, phew. Next term we're doing monologues YAY.

I have a Psychology test on Sunday morning. How funny is that? It would never happen in Singapore. Anyway, it doesn't seem too difficult so it's alright. Once Sunday morning is done, we have a break for a couple of hours and on Monday 37 of us have to face 400 new people. We're all split into classes and we could possibly the only new person in a class of 20. Cheesus.

Anyway, fuck that. TGIF!!!

(:

13.4.07

Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word.

School is a blast. Seriously. Couldn't get any better. My only issue now is that I don't have an internet connection or phone line at home. Life's been hard on Belle and I because of that. Hahaha. Anyway, this is just a short note to let you guys know that I'm actually still alive. Will update heaps more when my internet connection comes!

Oh, Mother left today. Now Belle and I are really alone. That is, until my Daddy comes for the whole of May.

Planetshakers?
(:

8.4.07

I swear it's true.

29.3.07

Churchill's cigar.

I have my apartment, finally! I'm so sick of mentioning that it's in a perfect location but yes, it's in the corner of Collins and Swanston and it is in a bloody perfect location. I'll probably post some more pictures up once it's ready to be seen by the world. I've been so blessed so far, it's not even funny. I couldn't ask God for anything more in my life. Well, maybe just one thing. Other than that, I'm happy. Even the colour of the furniture I wanted is granted. Seriously. I think we'd have to move out at the end of the year though because mother reckons we should move to a cheaper place when we get one. I'd hate to though. This place is so perfect I just can't find any fault with it. Maybe not just yet, so we'll see how it goes. I haven't moved in yet, I'll get my keys tomorrow.

And the excitement continues...

23.3.07

There's blood in my mouth 'cause I've been biting my tongue all week.

My baby brother poses for my baby sister's artwork.

My mother is here, and I'm loving it! I went to the city today and used my new ATM card for the first time (and many times after that). I made a grand discovery today- I found Chom Chom. I can't believe it's taken me this long to realise that I wasn't too far from Singapore. I was in the tram today when I caught a glimpse of a red banner and it read 'Singapore Chom Chom'. Thankfully I hadn't had my lunch then so I jumped off the tram, cursing myself for not discovering the restaurant weeks earlier. In the past week my craving for something spicy and soupy has brought about several awful 'Tom Yum Soup's that didn't even come close to what I used to have. So, I entered Chom Chom and sat myself down, and flipped when I flipped the menu open. Roti Prata with Chicken Curry. Hurrah! I have Prata in Melbourne! I didn't flip because of that. It cost $6.80. My God. As I scanned through I was satisfied that they had heaps of dishes, and finally settled for Chicken Rice. It also cost $6.80, and didn't taste anything like what we have back at Far East. But hey, I'm not complaining. I can't believe I've survived (exactly) a month without local food. I'll make Belle suffer like I did and after her first month, I'll bring her to Chom Chom.

YUM.

20.3.07

That much.

Close your eyes. Smile.

19.3.07

For richer or for poorer; In sickness and in health.

Love isn't love if you didn't hurt someone.

16.3.07

Photographers are the new Supermodels.

The erratic weather is getting to me. I felt so hot last night it took me 4 hours to get to sleep. It rained last night, for the second time since I arrived. Apparently it's going to rain a couple of times in the following week. You know what that means. Gloomy days up ahead! So, today I went to Ikea. Nothing much, nothing different. It reminded me of Becky. Everything reminds me of Becky, because everything is about design. Becky, I miss you!

Tomorrow we are cleaning the house. Although I've been doing heaps of housework lately (mostly washing the dishes), I can't wait for tomorrow! Haha. The thing about housework though, it destroys my manicure. My nails are so ugly now it isn't even funny. And everytime I walk past a nail parlour I think, 'Hey I want to get my nails done!'. But no. No manicures for awhile now. This is more painful than I thought it'd be. Hahaha.

Ok so, tomorrow I will get my cleaning done, then I'll go to Savers just to see what they've got to offer. I have to stop trying to do everything at one go. At this rate, I'll get bored of this place in a month. But what can I do though, I'm always hungry for excitement.
Very excite!!!

15.3.07

Sex is a high performance thing.

Ever since I've arrived, I've had no doubt on one thing- Melbourne is a fashion capital. Didn't know that? I didn't either. You walk down the streets and hey, people here can dress man. Just walking in the city windowshopping, or watching people walk by, or picking up one of the many (free) fashion magazines will tell you so. The culture is so strong here, it's amazing. Not only fashion actually, every aspect of art is so evident. A far cry of what it's like back in Singapore. You know how in Singapore you into a shop in Far East and pick up one of those free magazines and in it you'd find total bullshit? It's not like that here. Whether it's a fashion, music or photography magazine, you'll be in awe. I'm happy I came here, because I'm so much more exposed to design and maybe now I'll find out which is the one aspect of it I love most.

Meanwhile, I can't wait to get myself some high-waisted plain dark denim cigarette-leg jeans, and ankle boots.
YAY.

14.3.07

I would stand up straight.

It is time for change. It is time to jump into something new. Maybe I should start typing in proper English with proper punctuation. I've been going around alone a lot, and I must say how much I love it. Today I went into a store and saw a T-shirt that made me laugh to myself and made me look like a total idiot. It read 'If I gave a shit, you'd be the first one I'd give it to'. How hilarious is that? I pissed myself laughing.

Hahaha.
I love life.
